Years after the liberation of Earth, the malevolent interdimensional hive-mind known as The Root launches a cataclysmic counter-attack through the World Stones. After companion Clementine is pulled into the anomaly, the player hero travels across shattered dimensions to gather the Segments of the Index and purge the Root once and for all.
