1. Energy Meter Discipline: Tap Beams vs Full Charge Beams
Every kaiju possesses a four-cell Energy Meter that fuels atomic heat rays, gravity beams, and chest lasers. Holding the beam button drains energy continuously but leaves your monster stationary with heavy recovery frames. Instead, tap the beam button for a single-cell projectile poke. Single-cell beams knock airborne opponents out of jump-ins and interrupt enemy building throws while preserving 75% of your energy reserves.
2. Grapple Teching & Heavy Throw Environmental Combos
Grapples beat blocking opponents automatically. When initiating a close-range grab, input your directional throw immediately on contact to minimize the opponent’s tech-escape window. Always aim heavy throws directly into intact skyscrapers or fuel depots: colliding with a standing structure inflicts 35% bonus crush damage and spawns green health or orange Rage Orbs.
3. Building Weaponization & Projectile Arcs
Lifting intact towers grants a high-damage projectile or melee bludgeon, but slows movement speed. Rather than holding buildings while walking across the arena, execute a run-pickup-throw chain in one motion. Aim slightly ahead of strafing flyers like Rodan or Mothra, as thrown skyscrapers track laterally during the first half of their flight arc.
4. Rage Orb Control & Unblockable Super Finishers
When the orange Rage Orb spawns in the arena, prioritize stage control over chipping enemy health. Securing the orb grants temporary armor frames and unlocks your kaiju’s signature Fury Attack (such as Godzilla’s Nuclear Pulse or Mechagodzilla’s All-Weapon Barrage). Trigger your Rage finisher immediately after knocking an opponent into a corner wall bounce for guaranteed full-hit damage.
